A few months back, Nintendo of America announced they would be moving their marketing/PR group to the San Francisco Bay area, from Redmond, Washington. It was a huge surprise at the time, and still continues to be a source of puzzlement. Why move that team to SF?
Perrin Kaplan, VP Marketing & Corporate Affairs, and long-time head of public relations for Nintendo, recently announced that she would not be making the move 840 miles south to the new office. Those of us who have had the pleasure of working with Perrin know that she is not only incredible at her job, she is also a wonderful person. Whoever manages to hire her onto their team will be very lucky!! Best of luck to you, Perrin!
Here is an “exit interview” that Gamespot did with Perrin recently. Even as she is moving for the door she is incredibly gracious to Nintendo. We could all learn a few things from Perrin!
