Why is it that every day, when I log in to my computer at work, I get prompted to install more Windows security patches? I’m getting pretty damned sick of it. Maybe I’ll just turn the shit off. If I didn’t have to reboot after installing them, it wouldn’t be so bad.
And no, before you ask, I’m not switching to a Mac (Jeff). Or Solaris (Chris). Or Linux (Bret). ๐

Not so bad when you consider the alternative…
I thought you guys were going to take over the world and have everyone run linux on PS2’s anyway? Why don’t you just run that? You can dig up a version of “Open-Yaroze-Office” ๐

I agree with Kim! Now just make it “Yaroze-Solaris 10 – StarOffice” and you will be golden!
In all seriouness, why the hell isn’t this stuff automated yet? In the corp world, patches and firmware upgrades can be pushed down to the boxes in the middle of the night and installed so why can’t we get this in Windows?

I was being sarcastic Sun-san! ๐
You can have it automated under windows. Our IT guys push the stuff to us in an automated fashion all the time. The only time you get a “click to confirm” is when you are up and running apps and even then, only when it requires a shutdown/reboot.
I look at it as an opportunity to get an espresso ๐
Damn you! Switch to a Mac! ๐
