Happy new year 2008!

Happy new year to all of you whom I may not have had a chance to catch up with this holiday season. I hope you’ve been able to have a nice relaxing holiday, and have caught up on many of the games you’ve been putting off playing because you’ve been working too hard. 🙂
The new year always brings about a great deal of reflection for me, and this year is no different. I’ve been working on my own now for six months, and have had a variety of interesting work experiences in that time. This holiday has been a perfect time for me to take a minute and look at what I’ve accomplished and make slight course corrections to bring myself back into true with where I’m seeking to head.
For the past 17 years, I’ve taken some time around the new year to keep track of my thoughts. It’s enlightening to look back. The threads of similarity in the way that I approach problems, the waves of success or lack thereof in some areas versus others… having the long view gives me useful insights into the way that I operate when I’m in a steady state, and helps me craft new plans for pushing myself into different energy levels. 🙂 It’s a practice that I heartily recommend!
