…and I’m really friggin tired. Had a really nice dinner last night at Eddie V, maybe had too much wine, maybe stayed up too late. Visited a few developers today and then drove around a bit to check out the area. Wandered around in the GIGANTIC Whole Foods here, which is at their headquarters. Unbelievable. Almost enough to make me want to move. ๐ Well maybe not quite enough. But I’m beginning to understand why people like it here. Great weather, good food, lots of restaurants and bars, tons of music, and the real estate is not too out of control. If it just wasn’t in Texas…! ๐
Conferences start tomorrow… the Game Technology Association meeting and Austin Game Conference.
I’m horribly behind on my email and work activities right now. So much travel lately. And being sick while travelling… no fun.
Think I need a coffee.
In Austin…

Be nice to yourself. There’s only one you and we like it to be healthy.
thank you my friend ๐
Have you ever been to Central Market? It is owned by HEB. I’ve been to at least three Whole Foods before, and in my opinion Central Market is to Whole Foods what Whole Foods is to Publix/Albertson’s/WinnDixie. I just wish I could buy stock in HEB because Central Market is the future of grocery stores! I’ve never been in a normal HEB though, so I can’t speak for them. I think Central Market is the fancier version. I assume you have already left Texas by now. Next time you come through, you should check out a Central Market, if you haven’t already. I missed the extra large Whole Foods.
I was going to introduce myself to you at the conference because I read your blog, but I get anxiety about meeting people for the first time in person. Oh well. You gave me the nod when you were leaving the XBox 360 presentation. :p
oh man! you should totally have said hello… next time perhaps ๐ thanks for reading my blog!
I haven’t been to Central Market – someone mentioned HEB to me but I hadn’t heard of the Central Market at all. Is it like PCC (Seattle) and Rainbow Grocery (San Francisco)? Those are both great local organic food stores.
Both of those xbox360 presentations were pretty well done, don’t you think?
>PCC (Seattle) and Rainbow Grocery (San Francisco)
I’ve never been to those (or either city yet). I don’t know how “organic” Central Market is because I don’t know anything about that whole “movement”. It is just a really pleasant atmosphere (when it isn’t packed) and they have quality food and ways of buying what you want, and it is the only grocery store I can stand to be in. My biggest gripe with Whole Foods is that it often smells funky. ๐ On the other hand, Central Market has the largest cheese section I’ve ever seen, and of course that isn’t too great on the nose.
The only Xbox360 presentation I attended was on Guide Live where they showed Project Gotham Racing. I was very impressed with how it looked. The turning control looked too slippery like racing games always are when using a directional pad. I wish that was improved upon. In racing games it is always impossible to really stay in a single car lane, when in real life it is pretty easy. It is really annoying to me to constantly tap left and right when you just want to go straight. I did not go to GDC, so I had not seen any new console demos yet. Guide Live seems decent enough, but I have no comments on it. I really like how you can use the controller on PC. I mainly play PC games, and it is interesting how they plan to implement some form of Guide Live into Windows.
